Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail (BIHR) is a private college committed to meet the needs of the hospitality, retail and tourism industries in Bahrain and beyond by providing highly trained professionals who possess a positive attitude and strong skill-set and can deliver the highest standard of service with professional competence and personal integrity.

BIHR is part of the Gulf Hospitality and Tourism Educational Company, the education division of H Q Dadabhai Holdings, one of Bahrain’s largest private companies operating in the education, construction, hotel, warehousing, property management, and car rental and leasing sectors.

Established originally in 1999 as the Baisin Institute of Hospitality Management, BIHR has pioneered vocational hospitality, retail and tourism education in Bahrain and the wider Gulf area by fusing local, regional and international influences in programmes ideally suited for those seeking a career in the world’s most exciting and rapidly growing industries either in Bahrain or overseas. The success of BIHR has been recognized by the award of many training contracts from diverse sources including many governmental and quasi-governmental organizations, for example the Specific Council for Training in Hotel and Catering, the Ministry of Labour and, most recently Tamkeen (formerly the Bahraini Labour Fund). Currently, in addition to its private work, BIHR has Tamkeen contracts to train 1870 Bahrainis for entry level and junior management positions in the hospitality sector, and for training 650 persons entry-level and junior and middle management positions in the retail sector.

BIHR’s success is such that in 2008 it moved to a brand new state-of-the-art campus in Barbar, just outside Manama, Bahrain’s capital.
