Established in 1953 The American Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Institute (AHLEI) is globally recognized as the premier source for delivering quality hospitality education, training and professional certification. Over 150 countries use AHLEI resources and over 1,800 colleges worldwide teach AHLEI courses.

BIHR is the official licensee of the AHLEI Educational Institute in Bahrain and certain other middle eastern and Asian countries. In order to cater to the Arab world, BIHM has obtained the Arabic translation, publication and distribution rights for AHLEI programs. Amongst other things, this allows the AHLEI Diploma course in hospitality management to be conducted in Arabic.

In addition, the Skills Certification Program of the AHLEI which provides high-quality training to students just taking up the course is built in to BIHR’s entry level programs. Those students who successfully complete the hospitality skills certification get line-level certification from the AHLEI.

BIHR offers all its students a life-long learning experience in association with AHLEI. Once they become graduates of BIHR they are given a student access code by which they can stay in contact with AHLEI for future career development. BIHR is also exclusively licensed to offer hospitality faculty and trainer programmes in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman. These programmes include the qualifications for Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE); Certified Hospitality Instructor (CHI); and Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT).
